لعبة ملك التفحيط - درفت سيارات وسباق Drift King

Step right up! The Arabic indies just raised the bar to a whole new level. I don’t understand Arabic but I still had fun playing this game. And I think that is what gaming is all about, it cuts across demographics both psycho and socio.

Cham Cham

A lovable chameleon named Cham Cham lost his beloved candy. You have to help him get his candy by manipulating the physics of the environment. Very similar to Cut the Rope in terms of objectives, but it still manages to pack a punch with its graphics and physics engine.

Trials Frontier

Now here is a game that follows all the gaming principles to the ‘T’. Gameplay begins as you start the game. No clicks at all! Game physics, graphics and engine all very high end and accurate. Starts off on a slower note but then picks up as you progress through the levels.

Ridge Racer

Yet another realistic car simulation game with some amazing graphics and gameplay. But it’s kinda lost in the entire scheme of things. For starters, if people want to play that seriously they will get consoles and secondly, yet another Real Racing? I think some studios especially the big ones lose sight of the objective behind mobile gaming.

One Dot Enemies

This game relies heavily on your curiosity and eyesight. So bring out the reading glasses, it is time to catch the elusive tiny dots. Such games purely leverage on human psychology. You have to really appreciate the thought behind this. It’s not really about the graphics or a story line, it’s all about “what lies ahead?”. Long live the indie guys.

Race the Stig

This game is really beyond your wildest imaginations. And, no not in a good way. When you see the BBC logo, you expect something different and innovative, but what do you get? Some crappy game built on a Subway Surfer game engine. Why BBC why would you do this to what is probably your biggest brand The Stig.

Verdict- Don’t even bother

No, I’m not going to share the link.

Frontline Commando 2

Big studios like Glu re-skin existing game engines only to increase the revenue long tail of that engine. In the process, they forget about what the consumer expects from them- Innovation. This game, like its predecessor- Contract Killer, has great game play and graphics and hopefully no download bugs like before.

Smash Hit

A mediocre game from a studio named Mediocre Studios. The concept is fun at first where you get to vent your frustration by breaking object with metallic balls. But then it gets boring and repetitive after some time. The graphics are very elementary but that is perfectly suited to this type of game. I think this is one of those games that will pick up only if people start competing for the highest score.

Helo TC

Helo TC is basically a remote controlled helicopter which works with your device. I managed to test one at a park only recently. The concept is really interesting but becomes kinda gimmicky when the flight dynamics aren’t upto it. The limited battery life also limits your experience.

Verdict- Get an AR Parrot Drone instead.

Rail Rush

Rail Rush is yet another game in the running genre but instead of running you’re in a mining cart headed down the track at full speed. This game makes interesting use of physics to manipulate the cart’s trajectory which in turn helps you get the collectibles. The graphics are also pretty decent.

Stampede Run

With so many games in the same genre, how does one stand out? Stampede Run is based on the Spanish bull run festival and that is its main differentiator. But does it really make that much of a difference? Not really! The only plus point is that you can actually run with your friends in game.

GuitarBots

GuitarBots is a really innovative way to learn the guitar. It starts off from the basics with open string strumming and then finally ends with full fledged songs. This one will actually make you want to buy a guitar if you don’t already have one. If only you could buy one through in app purchases :)

NodeBeat

NodeBeat is a refreshing concept after all the numerous monotonous guitar and piano apps. This app really takes making music to another level of fun. It is visually appealing with its galaxy of stars design. Its engaging to begin with but then the novelty dies away without much of an objective.

Honor Bound

This game starts off on a promising note with some crazy comic strip graphics. Enter the game play and all that anticipation dies within a few taps. The graphics are great but the objectives of the game make it very pointless. The objective aside, I think the most annoying feature is the continuous dialogues.

Any Landing

This game takes you back in time to Nintendo’s 1942 in terms of objective and game play. Of course, this time around it makes use of better graphics and physics. In terms of being addictive, it is barely there. There is a lot more that could have been done, like the inclusion of stunts within the game play.

Cut The Rope 2

The objective of this game is to make sure that the cute little monsters get their candy. Seems simple, but the physics based engine does not make it that simple. This coupled with good graphics, are the right ingredients that make this game addictive. The sweet toothed Om Nom will surely cut across the demographics.

Plants vs Zombies 2

EA Games never fails to take a whacky concept and twist it. The objective is simple- Don’t let the zombies across your front yard into your house. The attention to the finer gory details is outstanding. It’s a bit of strategy as well in the placement of your plant artillery. Deceptively addictive.

Jet Car Stunts 2

Action packed game play with amazing environments. Great fighter pilot HUD graphics for a car racing game. Game physics take you to a new level of realistic handling. Given the concept, one would expect straight up action, but, the game seems to lack that at first until you unlock the later stages.

Smash Bandits

Begin game play with four swipes and a click. Reminiscent of the late 90’s game- GTA with its top angle view. Classic graphics and innovative game play control. The objective is, as its name suggests, smash everything in sight. Clichéd in terms of objective, but it still manages to be fun.
