Ridge Racer

Yet another realistic car simulation game with some amazing graphics and gameplay. But it’s kinda lost in the entire scheme of things. For starters, if people want to play that seriously they will get consoles and secondly, yet another Real Racing? I think some studios especially the big ones lose sight of the objective behind mobile gaming.

One Dot Enemies

This game relies heavily on your curiosity and eyesight. So bring out the reading glasses, it is time to catch the elusive tiny dots. Such games purely leverage on human psychology. You have to really appreciate the thought behind this. It’s not really about the graphics or a story line, it’s all about “what lies ahead?”. Long live the indie guys.

Race the Stig

This game is really beyond your wildest imaginations. And, no not in a good way. When you see the BBC logo, you expect something different and innovative, but what do you get? Some crappy game built on a Subway Surfer game engine. Why BBC why would you do this to what is probably your biggest brand The Stig.

Verdict- Don’t even bother

Frontline Commando 2

Big studios like Glu re-skin existing game engines only to increase the revenue long tail of that engine. In the process, they forget about what the consumer expects from them- Innovation. This game, like its predecessor- Contract Killer, has great game play and graphics and hopefully no download bugs like before.

Smash Hit

A mediocre game from a studio named Mediocre Studios. The concept is fun at first where you get to vent your frustration by breaking object with metallic balls. But then it gets boring and repetitive after some time. The graphics are very elementary but that is perfectly suited to this type of game. I think this is one of those games that will pick up only if people start competing for the highest score.

Helo TC

Helo TC is basically a remote controlled helicopter which works with your device. I managed to test one at a park only recently. The concept is really interesting but becomes kinda gimmicky when the flight dynamics aren’t upto it. The limited battery life also limits your experience.

Verdict- Get an AR Parrot Drone instead.

Rail Rush

Rail Rush is yet another game in the running genre but instead of running you’re in a mining cart headed down the track at full speed. This game makes interesting use of physics to manipulate the cart’s trajectory which in turn helps you get the collectibles. The graphics are also pretty decent.

Stampede Run

With so many games in the same genre, how does one stand out? Stampede Run is based on the Spanish bull run festival and that is its main differentiator. But does it really make that much of a difference? Not really! The only plus point is that you can actually run with your friends in game.
